Years ago, cancer wasn’t even on the “death list” for cats/dogs... Cancer is now the #1 killer of cats and dogs.
“Do you think these flea and tick [and heartworm] killers might just be part of the reason why 4 out of 5 dogs and cats in this country [U.S.] have cancer?” Dr. Jeanette Thomason
“Heartworm dogs don’t scare me. I’ve cured probably a dozen over the years, never needing the toxic drugs so commonly used by conventional vets. ”Dr. Will Falconer, DVM
Dr. Falconer’s book “Vital Animals Don’t Get Heartworm”
If I lived in an area where heartworm prevention is advised, the first thing I’d do is call a good holistic vet for advice on what action to take.
ABOUT HEARTWORM PREVENTION
“Heartworm is spread by mosquitoes, heartworm medication is sold by fear”... never have truer words been spoken.
Heartworm “prevention” is a multibillion $$$$ industry for veterinarians, testing labs, Big Pharma and on-line sellers.
One dose may cost the veterinarian only a couple of dollars... How much does (did) your vet charge you for that visit.

BTW, heartworm meds DO NOT prevent heartworms... they are toxic poisons (classified as pesticides by the FDA) that kill heartworm larvae (called microfilariae) contracted during the previous 30-45 days and maybe longer... your dog actually has to be infected with heartworm for them to work.
Personally, my dogs have never had heartworm medication and never will... I don’t put toxic, poisonous medications in my body that would affect my immune system, kidneys or liver...why would I do it to my pets?
From a 2010 University of Guelph study (one of Canada’s premier veterinary universities) 367,385 dogs were tested across Canada and ONLY 564 (0.15%) were diagnosed with heartworm, 431 (76%) coming from one province, Ontario.
