Adequan
Having two dogs with arthritis, hip dysplasia and spondylosis, I have found Adequan to be a true lifesaver. Diamond has a severe case of Lumbosacral spondylosis and we have battled with her pain on a daily basis. This drug has made her life so much better. She is able to play and run some (see video below under the sandbox section) and be a happy pain free dog she should be. Otherwise she would be on pain meds on a regular basis. Sydney has hip dysplasia and spondylosis, an ACL tear and an unknown lameness that the Doctors couldn't diagnose. Both dogs are on Adequan to help them function without pain and have more mobility.
Medications will take out the kidneys and liver eventually so we only give meds (pain meds) when needed. I buy Adequan from online through an RX from my vet.
I learned to give these injections at home which has saved me a ton of money. Adequan takes approximately 4 weeks to start working really well and has to be given on a maintenance level often. It is written to be given twice a week for 4 weeks then cut back to once a week, once every two weeks then once every month. It depends on the severity. The side effects on this are extremely rare. In fact it is known to repair damage to cartilage etc. I HIGHLY recommend this to anyone that does not want to give meds (like NSAIDs) to their dog on a regular basis. I call this a true miracle drug in special cases.

TRF or Ostinol
I really like this product because it has really done wonders for my dog that tore her ACL last year. I tried everything...including homeopathic and everything else. Nothing helped her much at all for 6 months. I started her on this and within two weeks, she was walking pretty darn good. She's been on it for 6 months. We missed a week and she went lame..so I put her back on it and back to normal. I swear by this now. It is not cheap but it's well worth it. (150 or 350mg)
They also make a product called Ostinol 150, 350 or 450. It's cheaper in price and works just the same. Found on Amazon.

CBD Oil
Found this to work for many things. Acid Reflux, Anxiety, pain, cancer etc...

The "Activator"
If your dog has arthritis or spinal issues, hip dysplasia etc; this tool is great to use at home. It's easy to learn to use and works well. It is what most of your animal chiropractors will use. It is called VOM. (To learn what this is and how it works click on the link below) I have one of these and use it often. When Diamond is hurting, I use it daily. Adjusting the spine will help blood flow to other parts of the body including the organs as well. This tool works for not only arthritic or injured pets, but for overall health as well. It makes a pop noise so may startle some dogs but eventually they get use to the sound. With my girl, I give her a treat afterwards and make a big deal on how well she did letting me do this. So she is so much more willing to let me do it now. Learn to use this tool before using it on your dog.

Home Steam Cleaning Carpet Machine
Boy is this a God send. When you have a sick pet that ends up with diarrhea and/or vomiting, this is a life saver. After having a dog that was diagnosed with HGE and was so sick, my house wreaked of stench from watery and foamy vomit and diarrhea. I had no idea how in the world I was going to clean all of that up and get that smell out of my house. Needless to say I had just purchased one of these a couple months before. It took me a couple hours to get it all up along with opening up windows and doors. Within a few hours later, my house was back to normal. I was sooo glad I had invested in this machine and I will NEVER EVER be without one of these again as long as I live. This made my life so much easier that horrible day when I was already worried about my dog and whether she would live or not. Make your life easier and invest. You will not regret it. It's not a matter of if it will happen if you own pets, it's a matter of when. Be prepared! I also clean the carpets often with it due to having a house full of dogs. Lots of dirty paws.
Artificial Turf Grass
Let me just say, I recently purchased some of this for my backyard and it has been AWESOME. I have Diamond with a bad back and I DID have a senior dog that had a hard time stepping on or off the back porch. Also when it rains, in the bare spots of my yard become muddy. Dogs and mud don't mix for coming inside. So, this is sort of a happy medium. Also when it rains, they don't like getting out in the wet grass to just lay out and soak up the sun after the rain. This dries in less than 4 hours but doesn't feel real wet even right afterwards. I put play sand under it and sloped it up to my porch step so that it removes that step and now it's like a ramp. Now this is in no way a professional look since this was my first time to do this but..only the dogs will be seeing it so..it really isn't important how it looks as to how well it functions. Awesome stuff. No mowing either.
FYI-This does get a little hot in the summer so you may need to arrange to add some shade cover over it.
**Make sure when you purchase turf, that it is Made in the USA and ask about the lead content in it..if there is any. MOST all turf after 2010 is deemed safe.

Dremel
Well I got one of these for Christmas for just doing things around the house. I decided to try this out on my dogs nails. OMG..how great. I have 2 big dogs that has HATED the nail clippers. It was so bad I had to take them somewhere to get them done because I was just not able to get the job done. After learning how to ease a dog into getting its nails done and having one dog terrified of the noise of these and trying to bite it. All the dogs get a treat after they get their nails done. Now I have the same dogs coming up to me to wait their turn to have their nails done. What a big difference from the clipping to the filing. Just be careful using this. I use it on low (high for big dogs nails) and do not hold it on the same spot for a long time. Take it slow and easy until you get the feel of how much you can file at a time. It CAN become hot to them and hurt. (Tip: be careful with long haired dogs, it will grab hair and pull around the rotary.)

FURminator
I recently purchased one of these due to some heavy shedding of 2 of my dogs. One touch and a furball would be flying around. Drives me crazy with all that hair. So I was told about these and decided to take the plunge. Well I can honestly say, it was a good investment. It has reduced the hair tremendously. I have been using it for awhile now and it is so much better. I definitely recommend this. Let me tell you how I think this works. From what I am seeing, it appears to possibly pull the loosely attached hairs out and also does some thinning of the hair. It almost looks like they have had a hair trim. But I like the look so I am very happy with my results. I found it online here.
Sandbox
You ask WHY do I have a sandbox on my list? Well...my dogs love it and it makes me laugh so hard to watch them play. One in particular thinks it's great. It has been VERY entertaining and she has a blast playing in it. Watch out for flying sand though. All the dogs will get in it and lay in it as well. If you have an over abundance of fleas and ticks you may not want one since fleas and ticks like sand. I add a shade cover for hot summer months.
I ended up putting turf around this since I didn't expect grass to grow so well around it with all the sand that likes to get thrown. But it's been a terrific investment. Actually I purchased a plastic one for like $60 from Home Depot. It wasn't holding together well at all so I purchased 2x6's and cut them square and screwed them together. For a liner, I used the felt roofing material for the bottom. I tacked it to the boards. Cheap and simple to make. If you're not able to cut boards at home, have Home Depot to cut them for you. This is about 5 feet square. I used 3 inch drywall screws to screw it together. I did purchase a custom tarp to put on it when it rains. I stake it down so it doesn't blow off during a storm.

Water Filters
Water Filters are awesome. You can't lose investing in one of these. With the fluoride, arsenic and pesticides in our water, who wouldn't want one. A Whole House filter is your best bet since chemicals can adsorb into the skin. If a whole house filter is way over your budget, at least invest in a filter that you can add under your kitchen sink and a refrigerator filter. For a good one for under the cabinet for the kitchen, it costs around $200. This filters out fluoride and other chemicals. Same for a frig filter ($100). Easy to install and not costly. Whole house filters will last a long time and does require a plumber to install for warranty purposes. But this particular filter is low maintenance and the filters do not need to be replaced often at all. One thing when purchasing a whole house filter, make sure you know what your water pressure is. The lower the water pressure, the higher flow rate you will need on the filter. This is important and no one tells you this. If you're unsure how important it is to have one of these, go to YouTube and see all the videos on water filters or fluoride in our water and what it is doing to us and our pets. It's Shocking!
A Cheap Toy
I provide these for my dogs. The chewers really love these. They are cheap and you can always give a NEW toy to your dog. When it's fresh off the roll, it is considered a new toy and then your chewer can chew it to pieces. It's great. You just have to clean up the pieces later. (some dogs may eat these, if so...find a new toy instead)

Note: The cardboard is made from wood. There are no chemicals in the cardboard. It isn't allowed for in home use. Same goes for the glue. The glue is made out of protein glues formulated with gelatin, glycerin, water, and corn sugar. This makes them biodegradable.
* I buy the toilet paper and paper towel rolls NOT from large manufacturers (Bounty, Charmin) but from brands such as Seventh Generation, Simple truth etc. There is no glue on the outside that holds the toilet paper in place on the toilet paper rolls. If you see glue attached to cardboard, just peel it away.
