How often do you clean your pet's things? For food and water bowls, use stainless steel or high quality ceramic bowls only. Clean your pet's dishes daily with warm water and dishwashing liquid. Rinse well and refill with filtered and fluoride free water. Do not use bleach when cleaning your pet's bowls!
For your pets bedding, wash these at least weekly if not more often. Depends on your dog and hair and how dirty he/she gets daily and how the bedding smells. Even walking out in public areas can dirty the paws and bring in chemicals. So it's best to clean paws before coming into house or as soon as you get inside. You can use apple cider vinegar and water or Povidone iodine and water for a 3-5 minute soak and good washing. Wash the bedding and any material/cloth type toys often using hot water in your washer. You can use the antibacterial setting on your dryer if you have one.

Don't forget you cat lovers, clean those litter boxes daily. Wear gloves and a mask if using a clay base. I recommend a more natural litter that's safer for your cats. Like natural paper dust free litter or a natural pine. Do your research on SAFE chemical free litters and stop using the clay based. And wash those toys and food and water dishes as well. Use glass, ceramic, or high quality stainless steel for bowls. Avoid plastic bowls of all kinds.
If your pet's bedding is falling apart, by all means, purchase a new one..but wash it first when buying. This applies to pet apparel as well. Those materials come with lots of toxic chemicals. When you wash, do not use your basic laundry detergents. Use one that is chemical free and use dryer balls in the dryer. FIT or a natural (and/or organic) laundry liquid/powder is best to use since everything pets come in contact with has usually been washed by you. Add baking soda or a washing soda can help boost washing to rid of dirt and smells. Vinegar can be used in your bleach cup for helping to brighten whites and kills odors as well. Fabric softeners are laden with chemicals..in fact some of the worst kinds. So using organic wool dryer balls will substitute that. If you MUST use a fabric softener sheet, there are some that are safe. One in particular is made by Meyers. There are others but always research every ingredient. These are found on your online stores such as iherb.com and even Amazon.
If your pet sleeps in/on the bed with you, the best way to help protect your bedding is using a light blanket or throw where they lay on top of yours. Then you can wash it as often as needed without all those hairs, dirt and/or bacteria getting into your bedding. If they sleep under the covers with you, then wash them often. Use a waterproof mattress pad cover to keep any leakages and any other things coming from you or your pets away from your mattress.
Clean your sofas and furniture where your pets may lay or you can lay a towel or some sort of blanket/throw over the furniture using natural cleaning products or vinegar and water.
Pets bring us more housework don't they? But they are like children. We must always clean up after them and they depend on us to do that and to keep them safe from harm from toxic chemicals.

Toys/chews that you shouldn't provide to your pets are:
Rawhides (any type)
Rope toys
Tennis balls
Some Kong toys
Toys with strings or small attachments such as eyes on stuffed animals
Throw out old worn toys. Remember most all toys come from China. So search for MADE IN USA toys. Same goes for any and all products you purchase!
Avoid toys from China where many toxic chemicals are added to pretty much everything that comes from there.
